How Our World Invokes SKMT

With so much misunderstanding as to who and what Sekhmet (SKMT) was, it is no wonder she has been lost to time. She isn’t lost though. As her legend tells, she wandered off into the abyss from which she came, alone because being on her own was safer. Let’s go deeper:

After the Cleansing for which she was made, with the horror of facing her carnage, she wandered off into the desert alone, unable to control her power. She was made as a powerful weapon, it wasn’t her fault that they forgot to install an off switch. She only knew how to be that powerful, no governor, no temperance. She did not slink off to sulk or wallow, she went off to be left alone with only herself. In that arena, she was free to face her power, to play with it, and to learn how to master it without casualties. As the master of her own Nature she would be a different kind of Unstoppable Force. Empowered instead of just powerful.

Eventually, mankind realized that - despite being afraid of her raw nature - the imbalance created by the lack of her presence was way more dangerous than she was. They made a deal and sent an ambassador with an invitation. Men recognized their inability to stand in presence with such greatness, and so one day out of the year they would imbibe and give themselves over to their carnal side in order to allow her to walk among them. It was the best they had to offer, for although they could not handle her, they needed her.

The day came, they partook in their festivities, and in she skulked amongst them. Although she recognized their debauchery as an effort to witness her, she saw through it - as she was designed to see the truth beneath things. It was heart breaking to witness that in order to be tolerated they needed to be ‘obliterated’ one way or another. She lost her will to walk amongst men, as every time was more disheartening than the last. They were not acclimatizing, or evolving in order to resonate with purity or with her, they were hiding behind their coping mechanisms. “I can glimpse the power - only if I use this substance to change how I feel.” In a psychedelic state, they thought that they could handle being with her, but she knew, they would not see her at all, only their own demons and shadows. So, off she slinked back into the desert not to be heard from for thousands of years…

The ancient goddess of war, pestilence, passion, disease was only invoked when one wanted to enlist her protection, assistance, or to unleash her on their enemies. They had forgotten that she was purely a goddess of balance, the judge and defender of Ma’at. They had forgotten that she was the origin of the healing arts, the source of passion and creation itself. They tried to use her to perpetuate agenda and ascribed a reputation of carnage to her. Although, true, that was her mechanism or weapon, it was not her nature or her persona…

Yet, now, she stirs. Awakening by the unconscious call of this world.

What call stirs such a Power?

This, in a world, of child soldiers, unmitigated disease, unparalleled distribution of resources… This, a world run by rules placed by those who cheat death, betray what health really is, and deny one another basic rights of sentient beings… This, a world of organized chaos, unfounded judgement, numb populace, and a disempowered people…

SKMT stirs because corruption, depravity, and imbalance have gone unchecked for far too long.

She is awakening for the hunt.

She is discerning, expert, indiscriminate, and swift.

Welcome to the age of Sekhmet Awakening.

Sekhmet Stirs… are you ready to face her shadow unashamed?
